Overdrive : Re-Launching in January 2014

It's been a bit quiet around here lately - too quiet. That could be a line from a film.

Things have not been idle in Overdrive towers however. We've been hard at work with a documentary on the amazing and inspiring Kartforce and throwing all our efforts into next year. We've already started to refresh our social media outputs with Twitter, Facebook and now Google+ pages, and our videos are coming out on our Youtube channel

• Coverage from the Autosport International Show - this year with more action from the Live Action Arena and Autosolo
• Gearbox - Our look at Road Cars starting with the road car highlights from Autosport and a road test in the new Caterham 7 160 (which our presenter Chris loved!)
• Our first event - We're going Ice Karting! Watch this space for how to get involved in a very different karting experience
• A fresh new look - Still red and black, but the website will be getting a brand new look in January

Further ahead, we've got more news with our bi-weekly news bulletins which will be kicking off with the racing season in March and presented by Holly Rust. They'll include news and results from club and national motorsports, looking beyond the circuits and onto the rally stages, Autotests and all manner of clubman motorsports. There will also be more from Gearbox and we're working on 2014's features.

Autosport International 2013 is set to be just as popular as last year's show

It's that time of year again - our annual trip to Birmingham's glittering National Exhibition Centre for the now traditional kick off to the new motorsport year. As usual, we'll be taking our cameras along to bring you the best video features from the world of British Club and National motorsports. Whilst our regular presenter Rosemary John takes some time off due to injury, Chris Lucas takes over the reins and the microphone and will be catching up with some familiar faces and new innovations alike.

Highlights this year will include

• Ariel's new Atom Cup car and championship
• Karting action from the Johnny Herbert Celebrity Karting Challenge featuring Kart Force and Ben Collins
• BARC and BRSCC's plans for the new season
• Highlights from the Live Action Arena
• And some familiar faces from years gone by.

Rosie meets Sporting Car Champion, Ian Wright

 It's nearly here at last! The first programme of Overdrive this year will be released soon!

We've got 3 features in this upcoming programme, First, we travel to Catton Park in Derbyshire to try out the uphill challenge that is Sporting Car Trials with British Champion driver Ian Wright. Then it's to Wales for a fast ride around the Walter's arena rally stage, before joining Pembrey Circuit's team of Marshals as they train to keep their skills sharp and answer that all important question : "What do the marshals do?"

It's almost here! The April Edition of Overdrive is nearly completed and features Rosemary John training with the Marshals at Pembrey circuit, and a high speed ride around Walter's Arena in Glynneath.

We had a great time at the training day at Pembrey and we're sure that you'll find the resulting film interesting. If after watching it you have an urge to don orange overalls and head for your nearest race track, here's some links for anyone who's interested in becoming a Marshal.

Wanted : Your Top Ten UK Venues

Planning for series 1 of Overdrive is well underway, but we need your help on a couple of features. To kick things off, we would love to know what your favourite motorsport venues in the UK are. They don't have to be race tracks, sprints and hillclimbs or even rally stages are welcome too. Simply use the comments facility below to tell us which venues (doesn't have to be just one) are your favourites and why. Your help is very much appreciated!

If you're wondering where our special edition from Autosport International is... don't panic, you are not looking in the wrong place. We've been having a lot of troubles with uploading it to You Tube (Mostly because it is over 30 minutes long!) Hopefully later on today it'll be up in two parts. Keep an eye on Twitter and Facebook for updates in the meantime!

If anyone can suggest a better video hosting service, please let me know!

The first series of Overdrive is nearly ready to start production. We have the features that we want to film, and now it's a case of getting the funding together and filming it through January to March - with the first programme due to hit the web in April 2011 - It's going to be a very busy few months for us! Keep an eye on the site, or the social networks for the latest updates... Watch this space!

A taste of things to come

Overdrive is the UK's first moving motorsport Magazine and it will be packed full of features from track guides, latest news from British Motorsport and the specialist car scene. The first edition will be out soon, but for now, enjoy a quick ride around Llandow Circuit.
