A celebration of the UK’s automotive engineering expertise will take place at Birmingham’s NEC on 12-13 January 2013 with live demonstrations at Autosport International’s Live Action Arena.
Hosted within the UK’s largest indoor race track, motoring magazine Autocar presents its ‘Best of British’ with a display of stunning models: the 3.8-litre V8 McLaren MP4-12C; the 186-mph Jaguar XKR-S; one of the most extreme road cars the BAC Mono; the Range Rover Autobiography 5.0-litre V8 Supercharged, as well as a Lotus Elise and Lotus Exige.

Last, but most definitely not least is the Bentley Continental GT, the basis for the manufacturer’s return to motorsport competition this year.

Autosport International’s 5,000-seater Live Action Arena presents live races, record-breaking stunts and exhilarating demonstrations from a host of cars and motorsport disciplines. Guiness World Record Holder and stuntman extraordinaire Terry Grant will keep people on the edge of their seats as he demonstrates the ultimate in car control with jaw-dropping stunts and the latest world record attempts.
Powersliding his way into the Live Action Arena will be Boyzone’s Shane Lynch with his 2012 Maxxis British Drift Constuctors’ Championship-winning Team Japspeed and team-mates Paul ‘Smokey’ Smith and Shane O’Sullivan.

A diverse range of formulae will also take to the track, including Porsche Boxters, Supermoto Quads, Autograss Class 8 and the ever-popular BriSCA F1 Stock Cars.
“The strength of British engineering will truly be celebrated with such an exquisite selection of models on show, “said Ian France, Autosport International Show Director. “Meanwhile, for those craving the sights and smells of motorsport, there will be lots to relieve that closed season frustration. From stock car racing through to some of the most prestigious road cars, the Live Action Arena will again provide fantastic entertainment for all the family.”

The Live Action Arena is part of Autosport International, a show dedicated to the best in race and road machinery. A host of special guests will attend and make appearances in the Live Action Arena, including three-time Formula One World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart, current British F1 star Paul Di Resta, endurance legends Derek Bell, Emanuele Pirro and Allan McNish, along with touring car champions Rob Huff, Gordon Shedden and Andy Priaulx.

Some of the finest race and road cars will be on show, including all the race-winning cars from the 2012 F1 season, along with displays dedicated to the racing careers of Sir Jackie Stewart and 2001 World Rally Champion Richard Burns.
